    IAF ordered Phalcon starts flight tests in Israel

    The first of the three IL-76 Phalcon AWACS, ordered by the IAF from Israel, has started flight testing in Israel. The other two Phalcons will follow soon.

    June 9, 2008 - The first of the three IL-76 Phalcon AWACS, ordered by the IAF from Israel, has started flight testing in Israel, reports Flight magazine. The other two Phalcons will follow soon.

    The three IL-76 aircraft were brought from Russia by Israel Aerospace Industries for fitment of the Phalcon system.

    The first aircraft is likely to be delivered to the IAF in September 2008. Follow-on deliveries are expected in April 2009 and August 2010.

    Three additional Phalcon systems, being ordered at a cost of $ 2 billion, will be delivered by 2012.

    Can someone provide an update about the status of MMRCA contract??????

    Any clue about what did the various companies offered(avionics,engines,tot.....etc) for the contract???
