October 23, 2009, (Splash News) - Here is some pretty cool footage of two Russian MiG-29K fighters operating from the Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov that gets your adrenalin pumping.

According to meretmarine.com, the footage is from late September, so it is probably after the four Indian Navy MiG-29K and MiG-29KUBs conducted their trials on September 28-29.

The Russian Navy has placed an order for 24 MiG-29K fighters to replace the 20 Su-33s on board the Kuznetsov, which is probably good news for the Indian Navy since it is now assured of better technical and logistical support.

and don't think su33 will be retired any time soon
su33 has N001 radar which can easily be upgraded to N001VE radar which is on SU30MKK

    or with ZHUK MSE/MSFE radars

and this is still competitive against mig29k equipped with PESA/AESA and allows all stand off munitions

My opinion is that the Navy should pursue the idea of having this carrier seriously. This is what they wanted in their future aircraft carriers. So, HMS Queen Elizabeth with EMALS would be a good choice by the Navy ( IMO ).
