  • Welcome to Vijainder K Thakur's BLOG
Aviation, strategic affairs and space research have been my enduring interests since childhood. Nothing surprising there considering by father was in the Army. I served 20 years in the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot and have a brother who served the Indian Navy for 20 years as a marine commando.

Books on Space, Defense and Strategic Affairs
I feel books, as opposed to the Internet or the media, are the more reliable source of information. No one writes a book on Space, Defense or Strategic Affairs to make money - they do so out of passion or concern.

    Emerging Military Technologies
This section provides a peek at military technologies that will be commonplace on future battlefields.

PS My weblog has a pronounced India - Defense focus. I report on Defense matters because India spends nearly 20% of its budget on Defense. Two of India's neighbors openly covet her territory and don't foresake the use of violence to get it. Under the circumstances I think it is imperative that all Indians follow matters of defence closely. Our history, distant and recent, is replete with invasions that we invited upon ourselves by not being adequately prepared.

Because of delays in its planned induction, the Tejas does not adequately address the current and future threats faced by the IAF. There is a strong case for encouraging the IAF and ADA to think beyond the Tejas
